Description

Many experienced golfers struggle with their short game because they lack a strong foundation. For these golfers having a strong short game is essential for scoring and playing well. Join us over four 90-minute lessons focusing on learning basic short game techniques, skills and strategies:

  • Pitching and Chipping technique and skill development from 5 to 35 yards around the green (we call it a finesse wedge shot)
  • Putting fundamentals including proper putting technique and distance control
  • Bunker fundamentals including proper technique, club selection and adjusting for different sand conditions.
  • Short game drills and practice strategies for maximizing the results from your practice time
  • Mental game development and learning how to play under pressure, and taking what you can do on the practice green to playing on the course with everyone watching
  • Wedge and short game club recommendations

Building or rebuilding a strong short game foundation is essential to playing better, lowering your scores and having a lot more fun when playing golf. Each class contains a detailed instruction booklet.

Levels and Prerequisites

This class is open to experienced golfers ages 12 through adult, who at least occasionally shoot under 100 or better for 18 holes, and it presumes some basic (even if needing improvement) short game skills. If you are not certain which is the right class, ask and we can direct you.

The exact dates of all four lessons are available on the “Info” tab on the schedule for each class. Students need to attend the first class. If they cannot attend any subsequent class due to a personal scheduling conflict they may attend a makeup class the following month on a space available basis.
